SCOTT’s The Ski has been specifically developed to handle all types of skiing and terrain. The Ski features a unique elliptic sandwich construction offering exceptional torsional stiffness, as well as a true, full-length wood core for unmatched flex. With 3Dimension Sidecut and a Pro-Tip Rocker profile, The Ski provides performance and versatility in all conditions.
The Ski (yes, it's called The Ski) is the middle ground model in the Sun Valley Collection, with waists ranging from 88 - 93 mm depending on ski length. It's equally focused towards hardpack and powder conditions (Scott says it's 50% on-piste and 50% off-piste), thanks to its construction. It's is made up of beech, poplar, paulownia, and laminate sheets, collectively intended to give the ski a consistent, durable, and versatile flex profile. For something similar but wider, check out Scott's Sagebrush. And for something similar but skinnier, check out the Black Majic. The Sun Valley Collection features all mountain-focused skis designed to take on a variety of terrain. Full Ski Length Wood Core is intended to give the ski a smooth and evenly distributed flex pattern. Pro-Tip Rocker raises the tip up and off the ground, meant to make turn initiation and execution easier, especially in powder. With the tip lifted off the ground, less edge makes contact with the snow, which Scott calls Pre-Track Technology. The brand says this allows for both smooth short and long turns no matter what terrain you're on. 3Dimension Sidecut technology gives the tip and tail their own radii, designed for precise edge control. Scott, based in Givisiez, Switzerland, was founded in 1958. Its U.S. headquarters are in Salt Lake City, Utah.
